A Mayor Playing Dress-Up as a World Leader
Benjamin Netanyahu is a war criminal, he said. The architect of a horrific genocide. Then, without missing a beat, he admitted he has no power to do a damn thing about it. So instead he ordered the federal government to enforce an ICC warrant America has never accepted, and announced that Netanyahu is “not welcome” in New York.

This is a mayor who thinks the job comes with a foreign policy portfolio and a personal veto over America’s allies.
How dare he? How dare a man elected to run a city—crime, housing, garbage, schools—start issuing demands like he’s some kind of international tribunal? Mamdani is not a head of state. He’s not a diplomat. He’s a communist politician, Islamist terrorist who has spent years swimming in the same ideological swamp as people who treat Hamas as “resistance” and Jewish self-defense as the real atrocity. Now he’s got the mayor’s office, and he’s using it to perform for that crowd.
A Loyalty Test for the Radical Base
The same political current that soft-pedals October 7, that treats Gaza casualty numbers as sacred while ignoring the deliberate strategy of using civilians as shields, just got a full endorsement from City Hall. Mamdani didn’t invent this poison. He just decided the mayor’s desk was the right place to pour it out in public.
Look at what he’s actually saying. He’s telling Jewish New Yorkers and anyone who still thinks Israel has a right to exist that their concerns are secondary to the feelings of the activist class. He’s treating one of America’s closest allies like a criminal while wrapping himself in the language of “justice.” That’s not governance. That’s the politics of people who have always been more comfortable with the rhetoric of the radical left and its Islamist fellow travelers than with the hard realities of a dangerous world.
He Was Elected to Run a City, Not Lecture the World
New York did not elect a foreign minister. It elected a mayor. The job was never supposed to include declaring foreign leaders unwelcome or demanding the federal government enforce the wishes of an international court that the United States rejects. Yet here we are. A man who can’t even claim the legal authority to act on his own words still feels entitled to bark orders at the rest of the country while sitting behind a desk like he’s running something bigger than a city.

This is what happens when ideology eats competence. When the performance of radical virtue becomes more important than keeping the streets safe or the lights on. When a politician’s deepest loyalties run toward the people who celebrate the language of “resistance” and treat Western power itself as the problem.
Mamdani can keep the flags and the solemn tone and the carefully staged camera angle. It doesn’t change the fact that he’s using the office of mayor to advance a politics that many of us find both unserious and dangerous. The same politics that has long made excuses for the worst actors in the Middle East while treating the Jewish state as the unique villain of history just got a bigger microphone.
This Is Not Governing. This Is a Loyalty Test.
America’s allies deserve better than this. Jewish New Yorkers deserve better than this. And a city that still pretends to be a serious place deserves a mayor who understands the difference between governing and playing revolutionary for the cameras.
The rest of the country is under no obligation to pretend this is anything other than what it is: a radical who has decided the limits of his actual job are optional, and who is perfectly comfortable using City Hall to shit on the people who still believe America should stand with its friends.
